Hello!

I have received my PIP form in the last few days and I hope that this is not a very silly question but as the PIP form does not seem to have any mention of descriptors in it at all, are they still relevant and being used as the basis for decision makers decisions?

Even though the PIP form does not mention them am I still to use the descriptors as described in your latest PIP guide?

Thank you! :)

The form is just that, a form , you will be assessed against the PIP Descriptors as laid down in law.

See the PIP Claim guide for more information.

Replied by thebadger on topic which descriptors for March 6th claim please?
Hello again and thank you for your speedy reply Gordon, am I now to follow the
Descriptors from the March edition of the PIP guide please or still follow the descriptors
From the previous guide as my claim for PIP was made over the telephone on March the 6th?

I can't seem to find a clear answer and am migrating from DLA to PIP on the basis of mental health so am trying to make sure I use the right descriptors, I would hope that
as I have claimed before the point at which the law has changed I should be subject to the law at that point, the 6th of March?

Thank you,

I would use the guide from pre 16 March, you have nothing to lose by doing so, either your arguments will be accepted or they won't

Be aware there is a Catch 22 for Descriptors (e) and (f) of the Going Out activity as they are considered to be mutually exclusive so you may have problems if you argue for both. Also (e) is about undertaking a journey and (f) is about following a route, these are not the same.
