Please could anybody give me some advice. I am on standard Care / standard mobility PIP, and ESA I am in the support group getting a income related amount and extra because I am entitled to contribution based esa. My wife was on PIP, but they have just taken it away. A MR is underway. Am I entitled to claim Severe disability payment. Thank you.
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it? To receive the Severe Disability Premium you need to be living alone or considered to be and no one must be receiving Carers Allowance for you.
You may have been entitled when your wife was receiving PIP if she had a Daily Living award as that would mean that you would still be considered to be living alone, assuming that no one else lives with you, but now that she has lost her PIP award this would no longer be the case.
If her award is re-instated then you should be able to get the SDP backdated.
