Well the home assessment lasted 2 hours 30 minutes. Have no idea what the outcome will be. My husband was marked as refusing part of the test as he was in pain??? He didn't outright refuse but explained that by her touching his leg he would experience extreme burn like pain. Yes she seemed nice, had been a nurse for sometime (established in none of the fields my husband comes under). However, stopped nursing to teach for 6 years and for the past year working for ATOS.
Asked him to read outloud and explain a note she had, nothing wrong with hubbys eyesight however she continued to make him concentrate on understanding the paragraph which he said was a load of rubbish, took about 3 - minutes before he had a bit of an understanding. Then asked him to spell WORLD outloud and again then asked him to spell it backwards. He did eventually manage although he said the l&d together. Then said 100 balloons take away 7, he worked that out then asked him to take away another 7 eventually he got that, then another 7, by which time he lost it.
Asked him how to get to the doctors, he gave wrong directions (he has been our doctor for 28 years) asked the name of the surgery and the road, hubby had no clue. So then she asked where the local supermarket was and how to get there (trick question unless you say don't know) . From our house there is only one way (we live at the end) turn right or left will take you too a supermarket. She suggested the co-op, both ways there is a co-op.
Asked about his mobility, worked out he could just about make it to the neighbours house then rest for 15 minutes before making his way home, not even 40 yards.
Asked if he can make a cup of tea, make a bowl of cereal, or a sandwich after establishing he couldn't cook or prepare food.
As I have been made an appointee by DWP I fail to see why they are trying to disprove his capabilities, after all I hold an official document issued by the government.
Oh well lets wait 6 - 8 weeks for the outcome.

We're seeing Decision in about 4-5 weeks, you should be able to request a copy of the assessment report next week by contacting the DWP office dealing with his claim.
