PIP work related benefit for over 65s was created by lollipop
I was wondering if assessing over 65's for a work related benefit is suitable for over 65s.

I am 68 and cannot understand why, after stating that you cannot receive pip after 65, is legally binding. It was DWP's fault that they could not implement their timetable for 2013. Four years later makes a big difference to someone of my age.

How can they successfully access someone of my age successfully.

PIP is not a work related benefit!

Why do they state that you cannot access this benefit of 65?

Forgive me but I am confused, from your previous posts you are currently going through a PIP assessment.

Yes I am, I sent off my form but have not heard anything yet. I am just wondering whilst I am waiting for my reply, the question that you cannot claim PIP over 65 - why is this so?, what is their reason for this?

thank you Gordon

Both DLA and PIP are restricted to claimants under the age of 65 although the age for PIP will increase with State Pension Age from next year.

The Government's view is that older claimants have problems that are the result of their age, this is particularly the case for mobility. People over 65 can claim Attendance Allowance.
