Are you able to tell me if the points in the report for the daily living that for me totalled 14 are they just a recommendation or are these the basis of my award ?

It would be unusual for the DM to disagree with the assessors recommendation, it usually happens when they have misapplied the Descriptors.

I am happy with the number of point I have been given just a bit confused that I got so few for one descriptor and more than expected in another. I am not complaining as my assessment report is fairly accurate but has anyone ever asked to have a MR to adjust the anomalies they perceive to be incorrect?

It is a failure of the system that there is no way to deal with this without an MR and if you are happy with the award then I do not advise that you go down this route.

The DWP could easily say that they agree that they have over scored you for those that you did not expect to score so high for and that they have scored you correctly for those that you think you underscored, with a net result that your award is reduced or even removed.

My problem is I like to dot the i' s and cross the t's as it doesn't truly represent what I said or what the assessor saw e.g. They referred to my attending on a mobility scooter and getting a "lift" .
In reality I attended the consultation in my electric wheelchair that goes up a ramp into our vehicle and was "brought" !
The fact was my husband remained with the vehicle in a nearby carpark because it was easier to load and unload me there and I am more than capable of representing myself .
The number of references in the report concerning the fact that I managed to attend by myself were extreme.
I am trying to retain as much independence as is possible and felt this was a demonstration of my needing the " Personal Independence Paypent" to facilitate that !!!

Well I have received my award of enhanced daily living and enhanced mobility for an ongoing period. For those still going through the process of PIP I would say be encouraged and if you follow all the advise given on B&W there can be hope in this process for an award that matches your level of disability.
I would like to thank the Benefits and Work team for their time and for the clarity of their answers, well done on providing this service. Brens.
