UC Assesment Phase? was created by PinotRouge
Hello,

My friend applied for ESA in December after coming off Income Support, however when its came back she’s been put on Universal Credit which she has to log into online, she’s been getting paid 79 a week like the ESA Assessment phase (since 22nd of December), but I cant seem to find any info online about a 13 week period for UC? She’s due a baby in 3 weeks and 79 a week Is half what she was recieving, Turn2Us says that she should be placed in the “No work-related requirements” group because she’s due in less than 15 weeks, is this correct and is there a waiting period like ESA?

They just said on the “Journal” that she needs a work capability assessment first when she inquired?

She also received the Severe Disability Premium while on Income Support, should this be carried over to UC? I know that there stopping it for new claimants but she has received this for years?

Thanks in advanced

Can I just confirm, they closed their Income Support claim and some time later made a claim for ESA, which was accepted but under the Universal Credit system.

As your friend is within six weeks of her due date she should be automatically treated as having LCW and should be placed in the no work-related requirements group and paid the associated rate.

Has she told them that she is pregnant and is within six weeks of giving birth? Either way she should be chasing the DWP about the automatic assignment to a group.

The SD Premium is not being stopped for anybody, however, UC does not include an SD Premium, so she will not receive this under UC.

Hello, no she was on IS as well as her mum and had an entitlement to carers allowence but didn't receive it as she had the SDP, however she stopped caring for her mam and was send an ESA50 form but when it came back it was US and all online.
Yes she's told them twice on the online journal that she's pregnant and due date but the past 3 months she's been receiving 79.50 a week, she was called into the job centre for a work focused something which we took her to and explained her mental health and pregnancy, and she didn't have to go again but she's still only been getting the basic rate.
I thought people who were receiving SDP were protected or is that only if there moved from ESA to US? do you know what her weekly rate should be? She's on enhanced rate PIP daily living.

Thank you again
