I'm sorry but this is the nature of benefits nowadays.

Please make sure you use the latest ESA claim guide as the Descriptors and Regulations were updated in 2013 and their have bee several changes to the DWP guidance as well.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

I, also have been in ESA support group for 4 years. I then didn't hear anything until late 2016 when I received and completed the ESA 50 form. I read through the B&W claim guide and as my condition comes under "Exceptional Circumstances", I enclosed a letter describing my condition and how it affects my day to day life (as I find the ESA 50 form is totally inappropriate for my condition and I told them so). I asked my consultant to write a supporting letter and provided copies of future hospital appointments.

Had WCA in early 2017, this went very smoothly, ensured the health professional had all the paperwork that I had submitted, so that this would be sent to the Decision Maker. Very shortly after, I received letter confirming I was still in the Support Group. This time though, no mention of any date/ timescale, that I would be assessment free!

Do your homework, fill in the forms using the B&W guides, add additional sheet if you feel your condition hasn't been explained by just filling out the form, try and get doctor's letter in support and provide any future appointments and the paperwork you have received recently re high rate of mobility & care component to boast your case.

Good luck.

It pays to do your homework and be prepared. If you don't feel you get your condition, day to day health issues across on the form, write an accompanying letter, get your doctor/consultant to also write a letter which you can submit with your claim or at a later date as you are not given much time to get this.

They were changed in January 2013.

Given the changes in the DWP guidance I would stick to using the current Claim guides, if your previous answer match the current advice then you can use them but check them very carefully before you do.
