Cancelled appointment

Hello folks, I posted in here in December to ask about sending in a doctors letter with my medical questionnaire stating that I was suffering from agoraphobia, severe anxiety and depression and my go advised attending a meeting would not be beneficial to my health in any way.
I received a letter back in December saying that due to my letter and medical information received that they had arranged for a taxi to collect me and return me to the medical appointment.
My husband wrote a reply stating that it would be impossible for me to go in a taxi with a total stranger to a medical in a town I don't know let alone go outsid to attempt to get in a strange car with a strange driver.we sent it special delivery but also requested a home visit in the contents of the letter.
I received no reply until the 2nd march which stated I would need to attend a medical on 29th march which is today at 3pm.no acknowledgement of my special delivery letter.
Oddly enough last Wednesday very early in the morning I rec Ives a phone call from dap in Birmingham saying that my appointment would no longer be going ahead and I did not need to attend a medical after all, this is almost 4 months after the medical questionnaire I completed, my benefit is still being paid and I have had a letter to confirm but no reason given.im not sure if I should be overjoyed or not to be honest it has just made me ill for almost 4 months wondering if my benefit would cease or when the dreaded white envelope would fall through the door.
Anyone else had the same happen and can you advise what I do next? Carry on with my daily struggle and forget the medical, or write and request a reason as to why? Any help would be appreciated.

AS you had a call cancelling your face2face, you should be OK. However, to be on the safe side, you should look at the information in this link

The first appointment is generated by computer with little/no reference to the claim form. It sounds as if someone has now looked at your paperwork and decided that a recommendation can be made to DWP without seeing you.

You don't say which benefit this relates to. For ESA, the claimant cannot be found 'fit for work' without first being seen face2face. There is no such rule with PIP.
