Hi please be gentle with me as this is my first go on here. :)
I am wondering if anybody knows about acceptible distance to travel to an assessment. Does it have to be a reasonable distance because I my 21 year old Atistic daughter has been given a date of 07/04/17 at Hagley Road Birmingham. She can not go on her own and I cant go as im having a back operation 2 days before.
I am trying to arrange appointments for nearer but in the 10 minutes it takes for me to check my diary and ring back they have gone.
Stress? What? Stress.
Regards,
BJ

As you are in/near Birmingham, Capita will be your PIP Assessment Provider (AP)

They state that traveling time to and from an assessment centre should not exceed 90 minutes either way, by public transport.

If your daughter cannot travel alone to the assessment due to her limitations, you should be able to secure a Home Assessment.

Capita may insist that you ask your daughter's G.P. or other Health Professional to fax them in support of a Home Assessment.

You can e-mail Capita if you are having problems over the phone :

Contact Capita.

Please keep us updated !

That way you can return to this topic easily to pose any further queries that you may have by replying to the topic.

Hi, I had a similar problem with Capita in Birmingham. Requested a home visit giving all the evidence I had to hand. The home visit was granted without my GP being consulted. Give them a ring, I found them helpful on this point.
