Do The DWP Generally Agree With Assessors? was created by Sheila 966
Hi,

We had our copy of the Assessors report today, we are still to hear from the DWP.

The Assessor scored my daughter as 14 for Care and 16 for Mobility - is this likely to be a reflection of the final outcome, or have people had erroneous results from the DWP?

Many thanks for any comments

Hi s,

In the vast majority of cases, The DWP PIP Case Manager (DM) will abide by the PIP Assessor's recommendations.

I can only recall a small amount of members who have reported that The PIP DM has not done so.

However, until you receive the decision, I am afraid that it is another "waiting game" ! :)

Please let us know when you receive the PIP Decision Notice.

Well my son's assessment by ATOS was generally very fair and supported the claim and would have expected him to have been awarded enhanced care and mobility. DWP awarded 2 points for care and 4 for mobility pretty much ignoring ATOS and the professional reports I supplied in support. Have asked for a MR,not terribly hopeful tbh but it will be interesting at Tribunal for DWP to explain why they disagree with their provider of choice for healthcare assessments I suppose.

Just a quick line - still no 'official letter' but I did make another phone call yesterday, to be told that on 30th March the DWP awarded my daughter Enhanced Rate in both categories for the next 5 years (assuming that means 4 until the next round of form filling!)

The person I spoke to made the suggestion that I visited the .Gov Site and checked out what other Benefits my daughter would be entitled to! I made mention that I didn't think she'd be entitled to anything as she works 29 hours (minimum wage):

She told us that among other things she would more than likely be entitled to working tax credits, the car we use to drive her around can now be vehicle tax exempt, she is entitled to a blue badge (that would help her enormously)

I'm still pinching myself : there are some kind and helpful souls out there in DWP Land
