ok so my ESA50 is in, I have been in support group appx. 5+ years for which I am grateful, but I am not computer savvy or in the know about anything. I don't want to be caught out in panic and freeze mode (which is what happens when I see them letters on my doorstep) if they reject my assessment and say I have to go into WRAG?
what do I do next?
who do you call?
what do you ask for?
how do you get help?
I have no idea what I would do or say next if that be the case? back in 2010 or something when I was seen as capable for work I called my GP and he wrote a letter and that was that, but now things are more complicated for me to understand. thank you

Hi ac,

If your ESA50 has arrived, you must fill it in and return it by the deadline date that will be on the accompanying letter.

Failure to return it by the deadline date could result in your ESA payments stopping so it is important to return it even if you feel that you haven't finished it.

Maybe your G.P. could provide a supporting letter to send with it once more.

There were changes to ESA Legislation in January 2013, so you should always use our most current Guides.

There have been some changes to The ESA50 itself.

Now that you have The ESA50, you may want to consider :

Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

Whilst referring to the guides on this page, 2nd & 3rd links down :

Sending Documents to the DWP or Maximus. (aka CHDA, aka HAAS.)

You should treat this re-assessment as if it was your first assessment and not assume that The Assessor will have access to any of your previous evidence. They may not even know that you are currently in The SG, so you should make it clear that you are.

It is therefore important that you reiterate how and why you still qualify for The SG, in that the limitations that you suffer as a result of your medical conditions have not changed nor diminished to such an extent that you no longer qualify for The SG.

Nor have you learned to deal with or adapt to your limitations since your last assessment.

If you are aware how and why you were placed into The SG last time, you could cite that also.

If you want to obtain fresh evidence such as a letter of support from your G.P., obtain it yourself and post it with the ESA50.

Do not rely on Maximus/DWP contacting your G.P. , even if you request that they do so.

They seldom do and are not legally obliged to do so.

With regards to what you should do after you are re-assessed and receive your new decision, I would not worry about that until the time, just concentrate on filling in The ESA50 and returning it by the deadline date.

You might want to Bookmark/Favourite this page in your Internet Browser. That way you can return to this topic easily to pose any further ESA queries that you may have by replying to the topic.
