Aids and Appliances was created by mobbba
Hi I am asking probably a stupid question, most of my questions are at the moment as I cannot think straight, I have so many things going around my head.

Thinking about Aids and Appliances. I have many aids, some I have bought myself and some supplied by OT.

What is assessors guide to aids? Should I declare all my aids?
Am I better to say what I use or will this deter my points?
I just cannot get my head around the literature, are aids good or bad?

Sorry I am having a f2f at home and I feel that if I scratch my nose in a certain way, or do anything I will suffer from it.

Thanks

In general aids are a good thing and will help you score points, the exception is for Moving Around, this is different from DLA where the use of aids would likely reduce an award.

There is a list of associated aids for each activity in the PIP Claim guide.

Remember you must require to use an aid in order to complete an activity for it to count, if you only use it because it is more convenient then you are unlikely to score.

I would not list everything you have, but would certainly list everything that you use to complete an activity.

Thank you Gordon....as always

Think about moving around. I cannot walk unaided outdoors. I have a crutch, how will this look?

Thanks

It depends how far you can walk reliably, on the majority of days, with the crutches?
