Hi I am currently receiving esa im in the support group. The esa50 questionnaire landed on my doorstep 2 weeks ago which I wasn't expecting. I went to the CAB to get help fill in the form and posted it on Monday how long is it taking for ESA to decide if I need a medical? Do they currently have long backlogs or is it ok?

Thanks

Some areas are running at 6-8 weeks but others are running at 6-8 months or even longer, unfortunately we don't have information on which regions are affected in what way.

It will likely be an ESA113 asking your GP about your conditions and whether you are able to attend a face to face at their offices.

Speak to your HGP to see if they want to see you before they complete the form, some do and it is usually to your advantage to do this.

I shall ring my gp tomorrow to see when she is in next. It's very furstrating at the moment to see a certain doctor as it's now sit and wait to be seen appointments. Would any doctor fill the form in or would it be the gp I usually see that will fill it in? I'm so stressed about this whole process

Hopefully it will be the one that you see regularly but some Practice's operate a policy of giving the form to whoever is available.
