How long are PIP claims currently taking?

My transfer from DLA to PIP is current, the PIP form was scanned onto DWP system 14th February 2017. Two weeks later a telephone call came offering a late notice f2f which I declined. I was told that was ok, an appointment would come through post. Still waiting, 8 weeks in total now. How long, generally, are transfers taking at the moment? What I couldn't understand was why was I offered a short notice appointment for a face-to-face, when there must be lots of other clients waiting ahead of me?

There seems to have been slow down in the assessment process recently, East Midlands has been mentioned several times, but I think that the problem is affecting most regions.

When they have short notice appointments, they just work their way down a list of claimants.

Hi Tabbycat, DWP sent me a text on 7th March 17 to say they'd received my form. As I heard nothing further, I phoned DWP on Monday and was told to wait until six weeks and then phone the Atos number they gave me. So if I haven't heard anything by the end of next week I'll call Atos. I live in Sussex but I'm guessing that any area could maybe have bigger backlogs than others. I go away on a much needed respite holiday on 3rd May so I'm hoping I'll hear something before then. I'm having visions of Atos sending me a f2f appointment while I'm away depending on how much notice they give. All the very best with your application.

Thanks, I was hoping I had submitted enough medical evidence for a paper decision, so I'm reluctant to phone for an appointment.

Hi Tabby Cat

I was given indefinite DLA 20 years ago after 2 spinal injuries.

My deadline date for my PIP form was 24th Feb, my assessment was 28th March and a Stopped Allowance letter/pack came yesterday from Motability.

I haven't yet received the full damage brown envelope fom the DWP.

I'm feeling extremely low and very sick.

It's awfull what this is doing to people,
I hope you get sorted and get to enjoy your holiday in peace xx
