PIP Standard rate was created by Dee
I have SLE LUPUS and Thrombocytopenia and Mechanical back pain and Neutropenia and Positive Anticardiolipin antibody, Ro and RNP, Incontinence, mild lung fibrosis and eye defect due to Hydroxychloroquine.

I was on middle rate care and higher rate mobility for my SLE lupus and other illnesses indefinitely. My benefit was reduced to both standard rate for both components based on an inaccurate report of the Atos assessor VT (initials)
. I sent further evidence from my GP, Physio report and medication list in support of my mandatory reconsideration. However, I have still been refused my enhanced Motability and I have to return my car on Tuesday 18.04.2017 by the close of day . I was given 11 Points for care and 10 points for Motability( moving around and no points for following a route to a journey because I go to work five days a week even though I travel in discomfort, fatigue
and pain. My condition varies.I believe this unfair. I use the car for mainly hospital appointments which can be four or five times within a month, shopping and work. Can someone please advise me on how to go through a success appeal process. I get unnecessary fatigue, joint pains in my shoulder, hip and knee, dizzy/faintness and fall sometimes without warning. I am on different types of medication which varies from time to time. I need help as the Assessor lied and did not pay attention to details. I even stumbled and almost fell during my assessment and slightly hit my back on a bed there. I would have fallen flat on the floor if that bed was not there. All documentation were opposite as to what was observed. Why will a health professional do that as I will definitely expect accuracy, paying attention to details and the right information passed on to DWP for correct decision making.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Based on your post you will not score points for the Going Out activity so you will need to show that your walking is restricted to 20m or less, you are currently assessed as being able to walk 20m-50m.

You must be able to walk "reliably" and "on the majority of days", see the PIP Claim guide for more details.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

You may struggle to show this as I suspect that there will be assumptions about the distance you can walk due to your working, so you will need to explain what you do at work and how this does not compromise your limitations.

Gordon, I struggle to go to work in difficulties such as pain in my joints, Chronic pains all over my body so been put on Gabapentin. this medication makes me drowsy and feel tired at work. Please advise. I sent my car back on the 19th and trying to negotiate with Motability if I can get it back until my appeal is over with the new law . Please advise as I am struggling to get to the station and always late to work. I have been able to sustain a job because of the Equality Act at work and using the car to mainly go to the station. I scored 11 for my daily component and 10 for moving around. I am now being judge on my mental intellectual and sensory state. I believe this is unfair as I was on middle rate care and Higher rate Motability DLA. I go to the hospital from 4 to six times in a month. The assessor lied in my report. I have identified 15 mistakes so far. she also missed out my medication and said my toilets was downstairs, Missed out my bath rails , My modifying drugs and said I was just on moderate pain medications and antibiotics. I was on Hydrosicholoroquine for 18 years and just stop of the defect in my vision. Please advise if that will also help as I am appealing against my mobility award. I am an administrator It has been very difficult with the past two days

Hi Dee,

The PIP criteria are very different from those for DLA. You will only score the required points by showing how and why you meet the very specific descriptors.

These are explained in detail in the PIP guide.
