Hi Gordon
Just to add to a question already asked earlier today. I have been reading through the ''What to expect on the assessment'' One thing that I am puzzled by: It says that assessors use PIPAT to record the assessment, but not on home visits.

I need to know how I back up my answers if he does not have my papers.

Thanks

The best way to do this is to refer to the evidence in and with your PIP2, even if they do not actually have this with them you are giving clear instructions where they need to look. if you attached an index to your form when you sent it back then you can use this or think about producing a quick reference list that you can refer to.

Hi Gordon

Assessment in the morning. Can I ask a question, I think this will be the last for now:laugh:

Are they interested in where you live, your home style etc.,? are they looking for anything in particular? I have OCD and there is never anything out of place ( I do have a cleaner) I am less distressed this way

Thanks

They ill be interested in issues that relate to your condition, for example do you have a toilet downstairs as well as upstairs, they may ask about how you keep your house clean, but you seem to have that covered with the cleaner.

Good luck for tomorrow.

Hi Gordon

Feeling bewildered

I had my home assessment today. It was a woman. She started by saying that I did not put down my ailments on the PIP2 form. I said I did and I have a copy. She said no we will go through them. I started to tell her and she was rushing me. I have Arthritis in many joints, I had to ask her to let me tell her which joints as when I said its in my shoulder, she was moving onto the next ailment.

We started by going through my answers on the PIP2 form. But she was not listening and letting me finish what I was saying.

She never asked how many times I could do whatever or how long it took me. She just asked so what can you do for yourself.

She asked about my COPD and Asthma, How often I was breathless and I said that it sometimes came on when I was phsycologicaly distressed. She said I dont want to talk about your mental health issues now we will discuss them later. Then she never asked me about mental health !!

Also she never asked me about planning a journey on my own.

I just felt that I could not get across to her anything, she seemed to be rushing through it all.

I know you will say wait for the outcome. But I have done so much research and got myself geared up for the questions and there was hardly any.

Is this normal on a home visit?
