PiP medical was created by Kath
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anybody else on here has been for a medical and the nurse who actually did the medical has told blatant lies in their report? After re i.e. I g a copy of my medical report myself and my son thought she was talking about another person. She stated I could get up from a crouched position on my own without me being asked could I or would I, same with lying down she stated I could get up on my own also stated I got out of my wheel chair unaided which I definitely did not. I'm so angry and feel there must be some kind of governing body to look at this. Has anyone else had the same done to them and what did they do about it. Thank you in anticipation everyone.

Yes I was awarded sttandered rate mobility after 9 years of getting higher rate mobility. I will ask for mandortory consideration but feel I cannot let these people get away with blatantly lying.

Hi Kath,

You can certainly complain to the assessor's regulatory body (NMC if it was a nurse) and also the Assessment Provider (ATOS or Capita). This would be a separate issue from the MR.

As far as the MR is concerned, our PIP guide talks you through the process. You need to understand that the criteria for PIP are very different from the DLA ones (PIP was made harder to get with the express intention of reducing the benefits bill) and the mobility descriptor is particularly brutal. The guide explains this too.

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too :)
