TOPIC: DLA Awarded

DLA Awarded 7 years 3 weeks ago #12885

  • njalondon
Hi i received my DLA award of high rate care and low rate mobility Monday, I made the initial contact 11 weeks ago, the claim wasa fully backdated, the forms were sent in and received on the 13th October and the award made on the 11th November, what seemed strange was there was no medical, I was just given a straight award and no fight, i wasn't contacted for a Doctors report. I have a pending ESA claim, I had the medical on the 24th of October and I am still awaiting a reply as to whether i go to WRAG, Support Group or appeal. How unusual are the circumstances of my case, and given the DLA award do you think that the ESA medical had anything to do with the granting of it?

Many thanks

I never had a medical but I got HRM/LRC DLA.
I had a medical for ESA and got placed in WRAG with 51 points.
I complained to DWP and requested an oral hearing tribunal.
Within a week they wrote saying they've placed me in the support group.
They never did adress the many points of my complaint but I never persued it when I got in the support group!!!

I wwas awarded HRM/LRC inefinatley and when myi IB was successfully reviewed I didn't have to attend a medical.I think the HRM award may be the reason
Well done on your successs

I still have yet to have my ESA medical results assessed by the DWP DM, I also I understand the third criteria and how it applies to my situation so who knows. It's good to know amongst a sea of bad publicity with the DLA system that some people don't have to fight, i imagine it's more common than we know, but maybe not common enough, good luck everyone.
