I wonder can anyone direct me to where I can discover the 'amount the law says you need to live on' please?
This phrase has been quoted in letters to me but I am unable to find an explantion online.
Many thanks.

Hi Wilf,

It would be impossible for us to do this without asking all kinds of personal questions about income, capital, savings etc.

The link HERE may help, but if you ring the Benefits Enquiry Line on 0800 882200 they can work out your 'applicable amount'.

They don't ask for your name or NINO as they don't have access to claimants personal files, but they can tell you how much the law states you need to live on, and whether you're claiming all the benefits that you you're entitled to.

Good luck.
