TOPIC: linking rules (104 weeks linking rule)

Re:linking rules (104 weeks linking rule) 7 years 2 weeks ago #13141

Hi Dusan,

The linking rules have no effect at all on whether or not a claimant has a medical - that will be decided in the same way regardless of whether or not the linking rules apply.

A claimant who is subject to the linking rules will still have to submit sick notes which will be looked at by an Atos doctor. The doctor will then decide whether a questionnaire should be sent out and, based on that, whether a medical should take place.

The linking rules only relate to administrative issues, such as whether a claimant needs to serve another one year qualifying period before becoming eligible for a disability premium once they have been found to be incapable of work again.

Steve thank you so much!
That is precisely what I was asking infact.
Just a more detail about the issue of getting into the 104 group of claimants.
in a way I have no choice, but I wanted to know in more detail what lays ahead within such scenario. so, I may expect medical
another question which is confusing regards- those statutory sick pay forms (SSP, and SSP1 FORMS), which the employer has to fill in in order to prepare me for fresh IB claim. jobcentre posted me some materials and I am not sure can I print SSPs on my own, online- there are pdf files, or I can ignore that alltogether. Thank you imensely. and if you know about SSP (Statutory Sick Pay forms, I would be so grateful. Really all the best and thank you so very much!!!!

Hi Dusan,

I'm afraid I've never had anything to do with SSP forms.
