TOPIC: DLA: what happens to IB when claim finishes

DLA: what happens to IB when claim finishes 7 years 6 days ago #13198

  • the tired one
My DLA finishes at the start of December, but I have only just sent off the completed DLA form,so the DWP will not be make a decision for some time. So, I am wondering what happens now in terms of my IB,I know my SDA will cease, but will I continue to get the basic rate IB (i have (been awarded IB for some years), or heavens forbid, will I have to reclaim, etc.

Thanks

Hi,

Your award of incapacity benefit is not dependent on being in receipt of DLA, so should not be affected. But premiums may be affected. When you say SDA, do you mean severe disability premium?
