TOPIC: IS appeal successful after 7 months

IS appeal successful after 7 months 6 years 10 months ago #13522

  • njalondon
Having had my benefit stopped in July with entitlement stopped in April my appeal has been been decided without recourse to a hearing, everything has been linked and backdated to April.

I was claiming ESA on assessment phase, I went for the WCA in October a few weeks after my claim for DLA had been dubmitted, 5 weeks after the DLA claim had been submitted I received an award for HRC/LRM. At this point I was still on asssessment phase ESA with an appeal being gathered for my Income Support claim, today out of the blue I received a letter backdating my incapacity credits. I can only imagine that this must have been due to a successful WCA test.

So to all those out there that are nervous and scared, there is still some natural justice in the system and not all cases end in despair, yes it's been a nightmare navigating the kafkaesque bureacracy of the DWP. In the end I received all the help I needed, to everyone out there persevere and don't give up. I can't for one minute imagine I'm the only one, good luck.

Hi nja,

Well done, and and thanks for sharing your success story, it really helps when you hear others being successful.
