DLA Award 6 years 10 months ago #13672

I've just opened my post and my son has been awarded HRC (as before) and LRM (a new and an uxexpected bonus). I'm amazed as it has only been 5 wks since I returned the renewal form and I don't think school or our GP has been contacted.
What I would like to know is if my carers allowance will continue automatically or will I need to inform someone that the DLA has been continued?
I'd also like to thank you for your wonderful online guides, it's the second time we've got an award after following the advice so I'm very grateful.

As the requirement for CA is that the person you are caring for is that they receive either HRC or MRC of DLA then I would have thought that your CA will continue. You can confirm this with the Carers Advice Line on 01253 856123
