TOPIC: worried ESA medical soon

Re:worried ESA medical soon 6 years 11 months ago #13768

I think that lack of motivation is a key aspect of depression. Can't be bothered just about sums it up. Don't forget that what you say in your ESA medical can be passed on to the DLA team, so if you are relying on lack of motivation (for example to look after yourself or to prepare a meal) for DLA eligibility purposes and you say that you don't have a motivation problem when you have your ESA medical, you may have your entitlement to DLA questioned.

Hi Courgette,

Don't worry, in the unlikely event of you failing your ESA medical, you wouldn't have to pay anything back as you currently qualify.

As for your DLA, this is a separate benefit paid to those with care and/or mobility needs so has nothing to do with your ESA which is paid to those unable to work due to ill-health or disability.

Many DLA claimants manage to hold down part-time, and in some cases full -time work.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Pat
