TOPIC: Saga of my DLA claim

Saga of my DLA claim 6 years 11 months ago #14355

Hi and I wish you all a less painful year in 2010.
Some of you will have read previous threads which outlined my DLA road.
June 09 claim sent in.
Sept 09 award given
Nov 09 award taken away
Nov 09 appeal letter sent in
Dec 09 award given but on fixed term
Dec 09 Letter arrived on Christmas eve stating my award is being looked at and why do I disagree with Sep decision.

As that last letter dropped on my doormat afternoon of Xmas eve no chance to call anyone...offices closed for 2 weeks.

I was distraught and could not face any more of this fight, I spent 10 days in a haze of misery...I need help and though I could finally pay for it then thrown into despair again.
Effect, more stress more pain more misery.
I finally came to my senses enugh to realise they thought I had appealed the award...I had not. I appealed the U-TURN which took away my award.
Sent reply stating that and now I wait.
Can they get away with treating people so badly, YES they can it seems as some of you have been treated worse.
I sometimes wonder how I can go on, thank goodness for this site, used advise to fill first claim and was successful. Shame the "decision makers " do not get such good advise on how to do their job !
Thanks to all who contribute to the forum and special thanks for the BW admins.

Hi,

There is not much I can add other than you have been treated appallingly in my view.

I do seem to recall from your previous postings that you were complaining through your MP?. If so, do keep the pressure on him to do his job in looking after the interests of one of his constituents.

Regards

Pete

HI,

I felt I just had to write to say how sorry I was for you, with regards to the way you have been treated; these people seem to forget that they are playing with people lives, it may just be a case to them, and to us there decisions change our whole life. Not like we want to be in the position that we have to claim it would rather be a fit and healthy individual, good luck

Thanks Pete, yes I have contacted my MP and he has now got my written statement giving him permission to act on my behalf, he seems very genuine and I know his wife is long term ill so has some understanding of what we all go through. I told him I am already in touch with a WBO but would appreciate him even letting the DWP know I will not go away. Thanks again for your support.

Thanks for your support, you are right I would give almost anything to be fit and healthy and working still.

Hi I hope this is finally resolved for you very soon. I hate to think that this might happen to me as I have just completed a claim form myself and have to say that I have found the whole experience terrible to deal with. good luck and don't give up.
