TOPIC: Winter Bonus this year?

Winter Bonus this year? 6 years 11 months ago #14449

Hi,

Last year we got a winter bonus of £57 if you were entitled and also got the Xmas Bonus.

Will we get it this year and if so when and how much?

Thanks

Lorraine

Hi,

So far this year nothing has been announced about any extra payment.

Thus until the (possibly unlikely) event that the government announce anything, I think it would be safer to assume there will be no extra payment this year.

Regards

Pete

Hi Lorraine,

Last year those over 60 years of age got an additional £60 last year in addition to their £10 Christmas Bonus. I'm afraid it was just for last year, so won't be paid this year.

Hi,

Not just over 60s Jim as myself and others got it too and I am only in my 40's. I have written to David Cameron who is my MP and lives a few miles from me to ask him to clarify if we will get this this year as the weather this year is much colder and the reason we got it last time was to help with the cost of heating as the weather was so cold.

Thanks

Hiya all ,

Here is the DWP Newsroom announcement back on 16th December 2008 , and states that it was indeed a one off payment that year in addition to the £10 xmas bonus.
