TOPIC: no med 4 what does it mean

no med 4 what does it mean 6 years 10 months ago #14734

just a minor query about the function of med 4 documents. i have been on incapacity for the last 18 months. i have recently recieved an ib50. they have not asked my doctor for a med 4. it says so on the accompanying letter.
because of the severity of my condition i did not complete a full medical last time - the doctor said that i should not have been called in and sent me home after only asking two questions. it may be that they did not recieve all the relevant info from my doctor in time. i do not have to attend pathways courses and generally the dole leave me alone.
why no med 4? is it because the ib50 is, in this instance, not much more than a renewal form - my condition is about the same - and they are not that bothered about me??
or is it that i am being railroaded? i am very paranoid and inclined to read situations wrong.
if anybody has any insights i would be very grateful.

Hi,

The Med 4 is usually issued once at the start of a claim (for example when SSP runs out).

It is not a problem that you have not received one this time around.
