Hi

Can anyone advise me what test(s) are supposed to be carried out at the medical assessment to assess your walking ability?

Thanks

per a letter I received today in response to a complaint
" That for an assement of walking for the purpose of disability assessment for the DWP the findings of a musculoskeletal over view and the examing practioner's observations are considered, and he adds that NO SPECIFIC WALKING TEST IS REQUIRED"

be careful be very careful, I have been lucky enough to find a solicitor to take my case

Hi.

Had my medical assessment in December.
They dont do any tests as such they ask a lot of questions and dident even look at my form that i filled in.
They then ask you to stand up and do things like stand on one leg then the other, bend down to touch your knees, lift one arm then the other.

Was then asked to climb onto the bed (i asked them for a step stool which was in the room but not at the bed)they then ask you to lift your leg then the other, to move your feet this way then that way, bend one leg at the knee then the other one.

Thats about it really but do be aware they are watching every move you make.
The doctor i saw was really nice and understanding and at some of the questions he asked me i was getting a bit muddled and dident quit understand what he meant and he explained and even directed me with my answers.

Good luck i hope i have helped.
