TOPIC: esa second medical?

esa second medical? 6 years 10 months ago #14921

Dear All
I am currently in receipt of ESA having passed the medical back in june and was placed in the Work Related Activity Group. Yesterday I received form ESA 50 asking for details relating to health matters. It’s exactly the same form as I filled in at the outset of the claim so I rang them to ask why they had sent the form. I was told that I had to restart the process as the doctor who did the medical said to consider return to work after six months.

Does anyone happen to know if a further medical is usually requested as I found the last one very stressful as part of my illness is related to anxiety

thanks

Hi,

Sadly, it is impossible to say whether or not you will be called for another medical. My own personal view is six months is not a realistic timescale, however it is not unheard of.

It maybe worth consulting the guides on this site with regards to completing your IB50 and/or obtaining some face to face advice from a Welfare Rights Adviser so the most relevant information can be included on the IB50.

Details of Advisers can be found in the posting where to obtain help in the spotlights area at the top of the forum.

If you have a copy of the previous medical report, sending in a copy of that with the IB50 as well may highlight the closeness in time between the last medical and a potential future one.

Regards

Pete
