ib to esa transfer pca exempt was created by cbrad
what will happen to all people currently exempt from the ib pca due to receiving dla hr care, will they now all have to go to a medical or is there any exemption in the esa medical rules. i ask as this is my situation and having never been for a medical due to dla hr care exemption this is all very very worrying for the future.

Hi,

There are detailed guides to ESA in the members area. If you download a copy of the Understanding ESA guide it sets out who may be exempt, but I'm afraid very few people are exempt under ESA and DLA awards are not relevant in this regard.

Good luck,

Steve

Dying it seems is not a criteria for exemption.

It was not so long ago when a terminally ill claimant cancer patient rang a radio 'phone-in programme, and confronted Gordon Brown about why he was compelled to attend work-focused interviews when he had terminal lung cancer? Brown said he would personally look into the man's case, but within a week both he and his appalling government were out of office.

I wonder if he ever did investigate the man's case?

i wrote to DWP and their reply was "on employment and support allowance, ALL customers will be required to attend a work capability assessment" so there we have it no matter how ill you are everyone will have to attend a medical and things will not be any better under the lib/con government, DWP also stated they have not been informed yet with dates for migration?

It should be noted that some people with severe conditions will be found incapable of work based on the paper evidence i.e ESA50 and/or ESA113.
