DLA 4 page SUCCESS!!! Increased award!! was created by millymoo
I have received my DLA decision this morning after completing the new 4 page form. I cant believe that i have been awarded a higher rate for 5 years this time without having to go to tribunal. Without B&W i am sure i wouldnt have had this result so thank you all from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!!! I took the valuable advice and sent in 6 pages typed of additional information which they have said in my letter they have used. This is such a relief!! I am celebrating firstly by getting my hair done as i have been putting things off as i wasnt sure what the outcome would be as every penny counts!!!

Thank you to all at B&W and members who have given me so much encouragement!!

Kind regards
Julie

I agree this site is a real life line and I will be supporting it for years to come. I did my DAL claim last spetember and it took 4 weeks to do following the advice from this site, but it only took the DWP 2 days from receipt to award me higher rate care and lower rate mobility. I was shellshocked.

My worry now though is the new plan to introduce medicals, it was hard enough before to claim, I am lucky that I still have over 4 years left but what then, if ATOS do them (which they probably will) I worry that they will not give me a chance to fully explain how my illness affects me or to submit the evidence as I did at my last claim.

Very deeply worried and its making my illness worse.

Hi Julie

Congratulations on your success. I received couple weeks ago my 4 page DLA renewal papers although my review date is Oct. I was concerned as it is such a short form it does not give enough space to write everything down. Also when I first applied two years ago - awarded high rate care and mobility there was a section on the back where someone you know could write a statement - my occupational therapist filled that bit in, but there is nothing with this form. I can see from your post you provided them with a lot of information could I ask was this info from doctors etc or did you t ype out info about your condition? I am not sure how to approach it all.

Congratulations again

Hi Julie

Its the first time I posted here so hope I am doing it right!! Congratulations, well done on your award, its good to hear success stories.

I received a couple of weeks ago the 4 page DLA renewal form and when I looked at it I could see that it was so short it didnt provide enough space to allow me to describe the effects of my disability. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. When I made my first claim two years ago I was awarded high rate care and mobility and on the back of the form my occupational therapist filled in the statement stating how the disease affected me. This form does not allow for this. Did you include letters from your doctors etc or did were the 6 pages listing your difficulties? Any advice would be welcome. Congratulations again

Lizzie

i think the dwp are giving it in one hand in 2013 will be taking it away in the other hand.yes its going to be tough but what i want to know is how are they going to test people with indefinite awards.these people have been seen by consultants and have life theatening illnesses. they shorly cant be made to go and have a medical.for instance i have copd and heart problems and breathing problems and im nearly 59 years old how on earth can i get a job with my healthproblems.it dont make sence
