cumulative effects of conditions was created by Tiger-ben
Hi, all, i am only new to the site and a new member which i am hoping helps me get some DLA award. This is my second time around as last years claim was turned down. I have just been turned down again after waiting since march for a decision. I am appealing and need all the tips and help i can get.

My current conditions are Ankylosing Spondylitis, Lumbar Osteoarthritis, Disc Degeneration Disease, Spondylolthesis, Fibromyalgia, Asthma, Menieres Disease (to include Vertigo and Tinnitus), Depression, Plantar Fasciitis, Hypertension, Irritable Bladder, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.

As you can see i have a lot of conditions causing severe chronic disabling pain along with other conditons yet DLA keep turning my applications down.

Any help is appreciated. thanks

Their are two parts to DLA one is Mobility and it depends how any of the above conditions effect your mobility.

The other one is the care component, do you actually need any one to help with your care needs ie personal care or cooking, dressing etc.

Hi,

Welcome to Benefits and Work. The first thing I'd advise is to check out all the guides to DLA in the members area, especially the one on appeals.

See DLA Resources

We can then perhaps offer you some general guidance, but we cannot give advice on individual claims, as is explained in FAQ

Good luck.

Jim

Hi,

I am going throught all the resources available, i have to say they are very helpful. It will take a while to get through all the advice.

I am currently working on my appeal, and yesterday when i received my statment of reasons i noticed they have went back to my old claim and included it in their decision to reject my claim. I have had illnesses diagnosed since my last claim was rejected in may 2009, my appeal was not heard until dec 2010, but as you know you cannot include any new information after may 2009 in your appeal. My ongoing claim was submitted late january to include new illnesses diagnosed since september 2009. is there any specific section i should be looking at as i dont think they should be able to go back to my old claim and then say my cirumstances have not changed since clearly they have. thanks.

a long list but the question is how are you affected ? what can you do ? what cant you do ? how much help do you need and how often ? how far can you walk ? do you need a cane ? one question I have is how old are you ?
