Incomplete Medical & Report was created by Esme
I had my ESA medical a few weeks, and have been put in work related activity group.

I have fibromyalgia.CFS/ME and Chronic headache syndrome ( all diagnosed).

I got a copy of the report and husband and I am appalled. Doctor contradicts herself on quite a few statements.
"Has acupuncture with no effect" then client attends private physio and acupunture....I do have acupunture, i would not be having it if it does not help.

Claims i can walk 100 metres without stopping or severe discomfort...then also states walked 16 metres very slowly to exam room and found this consistent.
She also states on another page " overall client has significant impairment of their lower limb and spinal function ands is likely to have significant disability of walking and sitting...........?
had some difficulty rising from sitting chair but did not need assistance from another person ( I had to hold chair with one hand while I used my other hand to hold onto desk to get up). Husband was holding my bag and medication.

There are sections e.g. consciousness where she states that i have no problem with this activity (I suffer with CFS and am on, as noted very strong painkillers which make me drowsy and I do " drop off" to sleep on occasions.
Quote " was able to sit still during interview....then stated appeared to have difficulty sitting due to Fibromyalgia CFS etc.... and needed to rise which i found consistent.

Explained when asked to touch toes and squat that due to pain that I was unfortnately unable to do so.
Did one upper limb test which caused me more pain..so doctor has written customer did very little of upper limb exam..said due to pain...it does not make sense.
She only asked me to do two things, which i did causing me more pain, i did not refuse to do any more of the exam, she asked me to sit down.

There are lots of the medical where she has put none of the above apply.e.g mental cognitive and intellectual function even though i have low mood/depression) tearfulness, problems with concentration, irritability and problems with short term mememory. I advised her that my gp can confirm this.

I could go on and on about other comments, but i am really upset that there are obvious untruths* and as my husband states "selective use of information".

He was with me as I suffer with my memory and needed help to get there as i cannot drive for long periods.
I am appealing but has anyone else had this type of problem....

hi dawn. and, i beleve everything you say. my ib85 is the same. i refused to squat, yet my ib85 says i had no problems doing them.

mine also says no problem with my legs. if he asked me to take my joggers off, he would see the op scars. and, the op's didn't fix my legs.

i broke down in tears early on in the medical. the doc when asked said he knew nothing of it.

selective? oh yes very selective

Hi Dawn

I understand how you feel. I also have CFS/ME & fibromyalgia. I scored enough points to be in the WRA but got no points for memory/concentration etc. Like you I could not do some of the activities I was asked to do in the medical because of pain etc. Quite a bit of my report was inaccurate &/or contradictatory & I thought about appealing but in the end decided not to as I might have lost the ESA entirely & coluldn't afford to do so.
Definately a highly selective process but sadly something we have to go through. Good luck with your appeal.
