Hi Guys,
So I got rewarded ESA due to CFS back in January after the long appeal process and now I've been sent another assessment form to start all over again. Cue the stress the will make me more ill!

What I want to know is whether is it worth putting about things on the form that I failed to score for last time, for example I suffer from fits that do not involve unconscious episodes and were therefore not counted before.

Also I was awarded 6points for being unable to walk 200m, would this be able to be used as reason for a taxi to the medical, as I do feel it would make things a lot less tiring for me (last time I was ill for 3days due to exhaustion)?

Any help is appreciated as I can't believe I have to go through this again.

Hi Viv

I think it is worth mentioning any significant health problem you have even if you don’t think it will score points. I would also advise you to look at the ESA advice guides in the members’ area and consider whether you should have scored points and if you could modify your evidence or give more detailed. As far as I can see, it is not necessary to lose consciousness for Activity 11. The law is worded ‘lost or altered consciousness’.

If having difficulty walking 200m is not a good reason to get a taxi, I don’t know what is. It would be of great benefit to get a taxi to the medical if you can because the software that generates the medical report makes all sorts of assumptions about your ability if you take a bus (for example, how far you walked from the bus stop).

Good luck with this very stressful and unnecessary process.

Derek
