Hi Sharon

When you ask for a revision or appeal, it is mainly up to you to submit further evidence. Although the DWP will have your GP's details and permission to obtain information from him or her, there is no guarantee that they will do this, even if you ask them. There is nothing preventing you from asking your GP for a letter/report to support your claim and sending it to the DWP.

Don't forget that if the DWP do not change their decision you have the option of appealing, assuming you have not already done so. Please read the appeal guide in the members' area.

Best of luck

Derek

Hi
Just going through the same thing for my wife. GP partner who didn't know wifes history stuffed it in a nutshell. They offered to relook and we have to send other evidence. I've written most politely suggesting the DLA look at it and address the issues as originally sent. I've also written a summary of what I think they need consider. I've also sent in two Social worker letters and having given a copy literally everything being sent in have asked that my wifes GP, who has known her around 15 years, to consult and then please send appropriate info to DLA.
He has already sent his reply so we keep fingers crossed. The social worker who has had a reasonable experience with DLA seems confident on a result.
As we and others always say These people have some idea what we struggle with but they earn enough not to have care about the effect of their quite often inconsiderate refusals do to applicants. I don't mean just money, it is an insult to ones intelligence let alone the none belief in what they are told.
Ramble over. Keep fighting my friend, if you fail, if that fails appeal and on and on.
Why should we give into those that do not know what it is to suffer
