Further Education and Benefit was created by Dragon
Can anyone enlighten me on the benefit rules with regards to Further Education. I am really worried as my son who regularly attends hospital and is under a Consultant Neurologist, Cardiologist and Consultant Neuropsychologist is really depressed. To be fair to the hospital team, I cannot fault their care in terms of the physical problems but despite him being under a Consultant Neuropsychologist, it would appear the Consultant is more concerned with the brain injury than his mental health. With his friend having enrolled on a course at our local college, we were thinking that with it only being a couple of hours a week, if my son were to attend the course, it might lift his spirit. My son is currently in receipt of ESA, MRC and LRM.

Skill, the national bureau for students with disabilities, has information sheets on this, which I think are quite helpful.
