Job Centre meeting was created by earlofsilversea
My 1st post..i have been on disability for 5 years and also IB.. today i have had a letter from DWP with an appointment arranged for next friday at the local job centre..
however i have not been re assessed by any Doctor as to my ongoing health problems. My dilemma is that the wording on this letter seems to suggest i am fit and ready to work.
Could someone please tell me this is the correct protocol.. i assumed the medical would have come first ..
needless to say i am sick with worry ..thanky ou kind people for any advice you may offer..thanks EoS :(

without identifying your name, what is the actual wording of the letter ?

Could it be for a Work Focussed Interview? If so, you must attend unless they agree to waive or defer the interview. If you don't attend without their agreeing that you won't, you can lose some of your benefits.

It sounds very much like a WFI. You have to attend and participate, but you don't have to do anything that you agree in the plan you draw up.

You can ask to have the meeting deferred or waived (people on ESA can only get it deferred). If you phone up to get it deferred or waived, make a note of who you speak to and write a confirmatory letter.

You never know, though, you may find the interview helpful if you think that at some point in the future you may be well enough to work.
