Basically, it's an interview to see if they can get you back to work.

It will cover things like what your qualifications and experience are and what sort of training might help you to get back to work. You may be given advice on help that they could offer you to get back to work. A plan will be drawn up.

You must participate fully in the interview, but at present there is no obligation on you to follow that plan.

HI EOS,

Check our guide to 'Getting the best from a work-focused interview' in the members area.

They do very much have to take your health conditions into account and they can't actually force you to take a job.

Please do read the guide, it may help to put your mind at rest.

Good luck,

Steve

Based on my own experience of the private company that conducted all 5 of my WFIs i believe they unofficially operate the "cream and park" method with their claimants.
When i first attended they were all action and phoned me often with unsuitable jobs i might be interested in (creamed). But when it became apparent i was having none of it i was "parked".
It seems they try hard with who they consider a likely choice for work initially but leave you alone if you don't show willing and take what they offer you!
