Hello all, new member.

I am presently in receipt of long-term rate IB with the Age-Addition. I have been made exempt every time I've had a med/PCA (industrial injury, mental health issues, long-term drug abuse) so far.

My next PCA/WCA is due May/June 2011 and I'm s**t-scared of what I read and hear. It seems that the only way to get into the Support Group is to be Quadraplegic and/or brain-dead!

Q1. Small comfort, but is there any official up-to-date news that indicates my next med might/will be delayed somewhat?

Q2. I've read somewhere that once one leaves IB one's NI contributions cease to be paid after 12 months. Is this true?

Q3. Is there any specific info in the members section or elsewhere that outlines the so-called "migration" process from IB to ESA?

Q4. How much, if any, of my previous med evidence (last med 2008) is going to be accepted as relevent/pertinent to my ESA WCA med- is it treated as an entirely new claim?

Q5. I'm contacting CAB soon, but I've also heard of "Welfare Rights Officers". Is the help of a WRO another avenue I should explore and how would I contact one?

Hi and Welcome to Benefits and Work Forums,

First of all, I recommend that you read our FAQ which explains about the forums etc. Also, visit Help for Claimants which contains all the free guides and resources for members, including information on moving from IB onto ESA.

This is a good link to keep up to date on Incapacity Benefits Migration I recommend you bookmark it for future reference, although you will receive a weekly newsletter by e-mail from us on latest DWP news.

Many CAB's have welfare rights advisers, if your's doesn't then try Community Legal Advice
who can put you in touch with an adviser in your local area.

Hope this helps.

Jim

Hi all

I follow the link and found this:

DWP has pledged to help customers adapt to their new circumstances and ensure continuity of payment is maintained

My payments stopped on 16th October & won't be reinstated until entitlement for ESA is proved, by getting another Medical, does anyone know if it is ATOS who do the medicals for ESA? .
