Need advice on 2 questions in DLA renewal form.

Hi,
I'm currently filling in my renewal for DLA with the assistance of the guidelines on here. Two Qs I'm unsure on how to answer,

1. Q33 Getting around outdoors(it's the long version form) This is obviously a continution from Q32 which seems to relate to mental health. I don't need anyone to guide me in unfamiliar places as my disability is solely physical - arthritis. Do I still fill this part in, based on physical disability only ?

Also, with regards to the Qs on hobbies, is it OK to not put anything in this? I used to swim, with the help of someone, but I can't any longer because of a skin condition, & there is nothing any one person could do to help me with that. Will it look bad if this is left blank?

Many thanks.

Hi,

The more info you can give the better in reality.

Although you maybe repeating yourself over and over, if even any part of Q33 applies then put that down in the form, even if it seems to repeat Q22.

Re hobbies etc, the more examples you can give the better. Think what you would like to do such as visiting other types of places which you could with assistance etc, even if just mundane. Or for example go on some form of adult education, or visit friends/relatives if these are relevant.

Without knowing you or meeting you it is difficult to be any more specific but try yo think of things you may want to try out for example.

I hope that helps.

I filled in a response to every single question on that form, even if the answer was much the same as one supplied to another question. There was no way I was going to give someone the opportunity to turn me down on an incomplete form!

It must have worked as I got higher and indefinite awards so, even if it gets boring... ;)

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I will keep on writing my *book* & hopefully have it finished by the New Year ! It's awkard when you have 3 or 4 different conditions effecting the same task, eg getting out of bed, as you seem to go on & on with the same words, but as you say keep writing!!

:)
