Atos vs Atos was created by kateem
hi everybody
I am new to the forum but I just want to share my situation and to ask does anybody have in the same shoes
I retired recently on ill health grounds and applied for my occupational pension. Atos assessed my "case" and sent me a letter saying I am not only uncapable of doing my job but also I am not capable of doing any job of any duration, based on GP and consultant reports and supporting letters. A month ago I applied for ESA and got a letter from the same Atos saying there is not enough evidence and I have to attend medical assessment. Great! I just cannot understand...
I am going on 16/12 and just don't know what to expect. Its a great web site and a great help for disabled people.
Would appreciate if somebody had to deal with the same situation
many thanks

Unfortunately, your case is not unique.

He who pays the piper pays the tune, as they say. Atos apply the rules set down by whoever is paying them, and if the criteria set down by an employer are different from the criteria set down by the DWP, you get this sort of absurd situation.

While I agree its daft in ways, its not absurd....Companies with pensions that are going to be paying out for years all have a different rule book to work from, a rule book that would have been wrote years ago by bosses trustes and staff members. people who run pension funds have a duty to make sure that the rules are followed.

Atos are just one of many companies supplying drs to pension funds

I bet some of the pension funds rules make dwp guide lines look simple.
