The problem is even though this time I have been placed in the support group with a progressive illness my third review will be in october. So it is not over for anybody and that would be my third medical in 2 years.

I think people should in general look at the overall reports here that the medicals are not great and be on your best guard. The information here is invaluable and the fact that less than 10% I think are targeted for the support group by DWP means at least 90% can find it tougher.....so prepare well...As said earlier I have an appeal against my original medical / decision this friday, my original claim goes back to september 2009 and it has been tough.....

Good luck to you all.

What bad luck and not fair at all, so those who are left alone for a period of time could really count themselves fortunate. Shame that we are not all treated fairly.

the reason for many medicals could be just that as you say you have a ...

a progressive illness ... do some people with it go into remission ? those could be reasons why ?

on the same subject has anyone called for lots of medical ever asked the DWP why ?

I believe it is yearly thing, my original claim was end of sept 2009, review started oct 2010 and the letter says next review oct 2011. I suppose a review does not necesarily mean a medical and think it would depend on your esa50 and further dr support if required at the time.

Thanks for reporting your positive experience, it gives us all a bit of hope that at least some understand. Even though I am still on IB till my review, I have always has good experiences of IB medicals bar one.

In total, I have had 5 and each time the Dr's were nice enough to let me leave with at least an indication of what they would be recommending.

I know esa is tougher, but it's still nice to hear that genuine Dr's who havnt forgot their reasons for going into medicine still exist.
