Voluntary Work on IB? was created by David m
I have applied to Volunteer at my local Oxfam shop for 4 hours a week to kick start my gradual return to work. They have allocated me 4 hours on a Tuesday afternoon.

Do I fill in a 'Permitted Work' form for this or just write and tell them what Iam intending to do?

Do I have to wait for them to agree to it before I start too?

Dave :)

I do voluntary work and over the years have changed what I do. I just send a letter to the local BDC saying who I'll be working for, including the address, and how many hours a week I'll be doing it. I've never been asked to fill a form in.

Thankyou for the prompt reply!

Just need to know now as to whether I can make a start before they write back to confirm it's ok to do?

You are not obliged to notifiy the DWP in advance, but starting voluntary work would count as a change of circumstances so you should notify the DWP as soon as possible.
