3 times applied and 3 times denied was created by Deb1701
I suffer from Fibromyalgia along with depression and chronic insomnia. I have applied for DLA 3 times now and even with an indepth letter from my own GP I have been denied my claim.

I know there are people a lot worse off health wise than me, but there are also a whole lot more with naff all wrong with them who get the allowance. To say I am bitterly disgruntled at how the doc they sent to see me at home can deem his report to be an in depth and independant report gets me. He asked me to walk all of 8ft from the sofa to the fire and back. On this he reported back I do not qualify in his eyes.

Was the person to spend actual time with me he would see how I am spending most days unable to do simple tasks and spend most days dosed up to the maximum on pain medication.

dont give up - i started with fibro symptoms after c section feb 07 to deliver twins - didnt go back to work so got incap benefit, (also have endometriosis so womb etc all glued together), applied for dla before i knew what all these strange happenings were and told you can do this and that even tho i couldnt so gave up, finally got name fibro for my brainfog and everything else so applied dla again, in meantime phoned my local council to apply for disabled badge (they have to look at it even if you dont get high rate mobility) got awarded badge, then again dla said no, so wrote back and said why would i bother telling you i cant do this this this and this and you write back and say yes you can - they looked at it and came back with high rate for both, on renewal again filled in form again (nothing changed) and again they said NO, so again wrote back and said I CANNOT DO THESES THINGS, so they came back high mobility low care, couldnt be bothered to argue about the care bit as too stressful, but my partner has now had to give up self employed work to look after me, twins, house etc it all got too much for him to work as well, so i am now going to write again about the care element and hopefully get moved up a bit and then he might get carers allowance as at the moment he cannot claim anything at all !!!!...so from someone who knows that fibro is debilitating and real, write them a long letter and go into to detail, ie if you cant wipe your bottom some times/lots times say so, i cant always wash me hair, i cant reach up i cant bend over, i can go to sleep anytime during the day for hour or several but cant sleep great at night.
currently take citolpram, tramadol, paracetemol, and melatonin (supposed to help sleep??) but have got morphine patch to try but dont want to as only 40 next month and if body gets used to that what drug do i take next??? came off amitrip in july and since lost a stone of the 3 gained on it.
good luck, shrimp xx
