I know little about DLA, but you may find the link below informative. Apologies if it is old new.

In my opinion, if the DLA unit do not have solid evidence sufficient enough to launch a fraud investigation, they should not be bothering DLA claimants with forms. It enables anyone who dislikes a claimant for whatever reason, to make life difficult.

We had a proble when we initially moved here last summer,i requested an advisory parking bay,but was informed one of meighbours had raised an objection so my request was refused.Apparently its because the advisory bays can be used by anyone but usually people respect the bay is for disabled persons,i appealed but again was refused,i am now having to move because i have had to park three streets away and call a taxi from my mobile to come and take me to my front door.I wish people would understand the problems being ill and disabled cause without extra stress and worry from the DLA doubting my claim.

The situation as described I'm afraid, is not uncommon.

The usual suspects tend to be primarily neighbours with which you may have had a dispute, or the possession of a Motability car which often attracts the green eyes of envy.

Although the DLA Unit will not want to discuss any potential fraud investigation, as to do so may well prejudice any suspected fraud enquiries, you are entitled to be informed if you are under investigation for suspected fraud. I am not familiar with form DLA80, but I suspect this is a preliminary investigation to ascertain if the information you are required to give on that form, matches the information already held on previous DLA claim forms.

You will have to complete the form unfortunately with all the (unnecessary) stress it entails, but an accurate account of your current difficulties and the help that is reasonably required, may be all that is needed by the DLA Unit?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
