ESA WRAG - has this happened to anyone else?

I passed my ESA medical a few months ago and was put into the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG). I also received a letter about attending a Pathways To Work interview.

After reading through the notes on this site it occurs to me that people in the WRAG should be attending PTW interviews 6 times a year. When I called them to arrange an appointment I was told it was totally voluntary and so there was no need for me to attend.

I also noticed that I never had a 2nd medical - Work-Focused Health-Related Assessment to see if I would go into the Support Group. Perhaps this took place at the same time as the other medical? I wouldn't have made into this group anyway.

has this happened to anyone else?

What you were told is incorrect.

While you are in the WRAG you will be required to attend six WFIs, you should have already had one during the assessment phase. These usually take place during the first year of your claim. The JCP will contact you when they want you to attend, these interviews can deferred but not cancelled.

The second nedical, for the Support Group, has been suspended for two years, possibly longer. In the interim, they are assessing people based on their ESA50 return and in the WCA medical.

Hope this explains it.

I had one WFI before the medical where I just gave my details. I've kept a record of who told me that I din't need to attend the PTW again just in case.
