i havent seen this anywhere but when people on IB contribution based get transfered to esa and you fail to get in work related group or support group and you appeal the decision do you get the basic rate of esa while you appeal as current esa claiments do.as currently on ib you have to go on jsa income based

Yes, you would be eligible to claim the assessment rate of ESA until your appeal is decided.
