Hi CJ

You may be interested in the DWP page below.

Anxiety and Agoraphobia in people with hearing disability

My understanding is that if you suffer from anxiety or any other mental illness as a result of deafness you can score points in the mental health test. But social isolation on it's own, as a result of hearing problems, may not be considered a mental illness.

Evidence from your GP to confirm a diagnosed mental health problem would be useful when you claim, as it is not unknown for an ATOS HCP to only apply the physical test to a claimant that has mental health issues as well.

Good luck when the time comes

Derek

Have to say that is so so true and I never even thought of it that way, My anxiety and Agoraphobia is so real Derek. I dont go out a lot because I get scared, I guess that is what it means.I just say I dont go out much, scared and anxiety is understatement.

I even get so angry at times with the fear etc I have kicked at counters, so isolated now, my wife does all.I avoid nearly everything these days..Im going to look that up, many thanks on that Derek.

Ive never really thought of it like that..my education isnt that good really, they could mix me up easily with typed words you know.

so really its isolation & Anxiety and Agoraphobia.. What box might I tick for that? could you enlighten me some more please..

Still wrong they wont accept isolation on its own, that is bad enough you know....
