recording a medical or having it recorded

vhawk1951,

Even though your legal argument re being allowed to record a medical may be valid.

DWP/ATOS have been acting as a law unto themselves for sometime in their whole procedure of assessment.

May be they will roll out recording the medicals after the pilot but I doubt it.

Until they receive a proper succesful legal challenge they will continue in the same vain.

As I have said, If you have severe mobility problems, and you need supervision, request a Home Assessment.

Do this if and when they first contact you.

If you put recording wca medicals in to the search engine at the top of the page it will show you two links to previous posts about this.

hope this helps.

vhawk1951,

DWP are running a pilot scheme at the moment, only with 500 medicals though.

I think this is because of Harringtons reveiw.

Further, if you can't attend one of their medical centres, make sure you inform them, with your reasons, and request a Home Assessment.

It would be far easier to record covertly at home, as Gordon has said though don't let them know you are recording whether at home or not as the will stop the medical.

You can say you recorded it for your own reference purposes. It is not illegal.

The DWP/Atos are piloting the audio recording of medical assessments at the Newcastle upon Tyne medical examination centre.

What would be the betting that following the pilot, the DWP/Atos declare that the recordings of medical assessments won't continue, not because of the expense involved, but because claimants allegedly did not think it was necessary, or for some other bogus reason?

once again, thank you very much ; I suppose my karma will be whatever I merit, but thinking about it objectively, I suppose I would not have had my stroke if it was not karma for my sins, which were many.

as many courts are 'wired for sound' thanks to the court reporting unit, mechanical recording departments, and I'm thinking of the Royal Courts of Justice here, you might legally argue that to have your submission recorded is part of your working life.

I would be most grateful if Crazydiamond, anyone, could provide me with a link to where any of the ‘official’ details of this 'pilot'(all designed-to-fail suspicions noted and shared) are available for claimants and their advisers. I appreciate it stems at least partly from the Harrington report and I have an extant FoI request in with the DWP, - but they are not being exactly prompt and candid.

All or any other help would be appreciated. Anybody been given any written details at Newcastle for instance? Any requirement to sign anything? Etc.
