medical reports/esa50 waiting times was created by bisley
I read a thread about waiting times for the new esa50 questionnaire which unfortunately I cannot now find. I remember someone saying they were due to be reviewed in December 2010 and have yet to receive their esa50 questionnaire.

I was regularly reviewed every 5 years on IB and would have been due to receive an old IB50 qustionnaire in May 2011.

This website's Guide advises sending medical evidence with the completed ESA50 questionnaire. I have arranged an appointment with a health professional with a view to having a medical report prepared. What I am concerned about is that it could be months or years before I receive the ESA50 and the report by then would be out of date. Should I delay the report? All postings appreciated.

My situation is entirely different than yours; I am a new applicant of ESA. I was given an award just one week after my application was made. Last Friday I received the latest ESA50. All very quick. I called today as I saw the ESA50 is online as well and would prefer to type as my hands are really shaky. The person I spoke with, didn't know how to find it but whilst he looked I found it. I know this doesn't help much but the document can be had rather quickly it appears; certainly in my case.

Maybe you should find out how long the doctors practice needs to get the report to you...?

Dragon3,

Understand your concerns, however even if you received a report dated tomorrow, and you were not assessed for say 12 months, it would still be admissable as to your long term conditions.

Another positive would be that you would then know that your care provider was willing to give you support, and also get to see what they are prepared to put in writing on your behalf.

Then when you are assessed, you could simply ask for an updated version.

Better to be prepared than be caught on the hop.

Or you could simply ask whether they would be prepared to support you in writing, if and when needed.

I have just broached this with my G.P. today, and discussed it fully with him.

He said if they put me in the WRAG, or fit for work, he would be right behind me.

He also said he'd resign, but I told him I wouldn't hold him to that !!.

I also received a letter of support from my spinal consultant last week, which he is willing to update if needed.

It will certainly do harm to find out now how the ground lies, rather than leaving it until last minute.

It must also be taken into account how accessable your consultant etc is.

hope this helps
